Manuel Maqueda , professor of circular economy at UCLA Extension, teaches and lectures on circular and regenerative economy and innovation at other universities and international business schools.

Recognized as an expert on plastic pollution, Manuel Maqueda is a co-founder of several organizations such as Plastic Pollution Coalition and SUPER (Single-Use Plastics Elimination or Reduction), a non-profit organization that enables companies to eliminate single-use plastics through a tiered certification program.

As a man ahead of his time, Manuel has been an advisor to well-known organizations such as the Jeff-Bezos-funded Long Now Foundation, dedicated to fostering long-term thinking in the context of the next 10,000 years.

Manuel researches how artificial intelligence can partner with human intellect to enable a regenerative economy. He is co-founder of Viento.ai, an organization pioneering the use of artificial intelligence to design proactive responses to climate disasters.

Manuel Maqueda’s clients include Google, Salesforce, Santander, LinkedIn, NASA, Institute for the Future, Dell, Foresight Institute, Green Festival, Circular City Week, New Plastics Economy Conference, Plastic-Free World and the Washington State Government, among many others. He is also a professor of circular economy at Harvard University.
